A life changing adventure begins when David, a bored high school student finds himself fascinated by an old leather bound journal while on a class trip to the Johnson House in Germantown, Pennsylvania. Along with his friend, Jenny, they are startled when Joshua’s ghost appears, pleading for their help in finding what happened to him, why he stopped writing and who won the war. Joshua Johnson, is a sixteen year old Quaker boy who experienced the Revolutionary War, became a spy despite his family’s strict pacifism and eventually finds him self at Valley Forge with George Washington. In order to help, David and Jenny take the journal and are on the run from the police. They go to New York and become part of the Occupy Wall Street movement where they meet others and have the adventure of a life time when the Occupy movement is broken up by the police and they escape with others to an old farm in Pennsylvania. Joshua’s journal describes meeting Thomas Jefferson, Ben Franklin, and George Washington as well as witnessing the reading of the Declaration of Independence at the Continental Congress. What happens in this adventure packed novel to Joshua during the American Revolution and to David and Jenny in the present is a thrilling page turner that is relevant and inspiring
